Jenna Elfman already has a backup plan in case her new sitcom is cancelled.
For the 2009-2010 CBS season, Jenna Elfman’s already set to star in the comedy Accidentally on Purpose. But if that bites the dust like her short-lived sitcom Courting Alex, she may already have a backup plan.
That’s because it’s rumored Elfman might be the first in line to star in potential spinoff of the former NBC drama Medium.
After being “cancelled” by NBC, Medium now moves to CBS.
Patricia Arquette, the 5’1” actress who plays crime-fighting psychic Allison Dubois on Medium, told Ponderings from Pluto a spinoff might be done if Medium is successful on CBS.
If ever Patricia “Allison Dubois” Arquette tires losing sleep from the disturbing images she sees, help is on the way.
“I’ve talked to Jenna about it and she says she’d like to try something else besides comedy,” Arquette said.
In the spinoff, Elfman would play a Los Angeles-based psychic who helps police solve cold cases. Since the gangly Elfman, at 5’10”, is just shy of six feet tall, the spinoff would be called Large.
“From a distance, Jenna looks 6’4″, so the new title would be perfect,” explained Arquette.
“It’s a cheesy name, but I love it,” Elfman said. “Besides, ever since Dharma and Greg I haven’t had much luck in sitcoms.”
